Be an Altar Builder!
You are welcome to build and altar to honor the memory of a loved one. Many friends and families from all cultural backgrounds participate in building altars in the historic Arches of the Old Mission’s inner gardens. There is no fee to build an altar. Mellano & Company generously grows and donate thousands of marigolds to use in the altar building. Based upon availability the Old Mission provides tables; however once we run out of tables you will need to provide your own. Typically two eight or six foot tables are used to create the altars. Please fill out and send in the altar form below to be considered. We will be holding free workshops to help altar builders plan and build their altars. Normally altars are built on Saturday before the event. This is a memorable way to celebrate your loved ones’ memories!
